Israel peace deal 2020

On Tuesday the 28th of January 2020 the USA and Israel governments brokered a plan to bring peace to the nation of Israel.

With a two state plan with Jerusalem divided where Jerusalem will be Israel’s capital and the Palestinian capital will be in East Jerusalem in the neighbourhood beyond the barrier. Also there will be a halt to more Israeli settlements being built.

More information on the plan, on why it was released now? What are the chances of the deal working? And the reaction around the world to the deal can be found here on Reuters https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-israel-palestinians-plan-explainer/whats-in-trumps-middle-east-peace-plan-idUKKBN1ZR1JH

I have been in bed since Friday with an attack of Labyrinthitis and I have been stuck in bed but getting slightly better. While in bed I have been listening to the Bible with not being able to read on vertigo spells. I was listening through Genesis and it came to this

Genesis 15:18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

I thought to myself this is the Nile River in Egypt and Euphrates River which takes in Turkey, Iraq and Syria. This is a massive area in which God gave to Abraham and his people the Jews, the Jews now are in a tiny spot compared to what they should have. In Gen 17:5-8 KJV 5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. 6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. 7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. 8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. God continues His promise with Canaan where the Kingdoms of Israel and Judah were located.

Also it is important to know that the land of Israel isn’t owned by the Jews but by God himself. The Jews just occupy the land like as in a lease or living in a rented property. As we read in Lev 25:17-23 KJV 17 Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I [am] the LORD your God. 18 Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety. 19 And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety. 20 And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase: 21 Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years. 22 And ye shall sow the eighth year, and eat [yet] of old fruit until the ninth year; until her fruits come in ye shall eat [of] the old [store]. 23 The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land [is] mine; for ye [are] strangers and sojourners with me.

I think it is dangerous to divide Gods land and city Jerusalem because there could be consequences. I like MacArthur’s Study Bible Study note on page 189: the land is Mine. God owns the earth and all that is in it (cf. Ps 24:1), The people of Israel were, in fact, only tenants on the land by the Lord’s grace. Therefore ownership of property was temporary, not permanent.
